Calling Ocean Spray

I was thirsty and wanted something refreshing. I had a choice between cranberry and orange juice. Neither one sounded like what I wanted, so I took both. Then I mixed them together, 6 oz. of each. It was fantastic.

So how come there's no Ocean Spray Cran-Orange drink? You'd think if alls you had to do all day was make juice, you'd have come up with this one by now.

  1. Tee hee! You've reminded me of a funny thing that happened when I was at the hospital having my duaghter. The anesthesiologist came in to give me an epidural and the Quipper was asked to leave the room. He went out to get me a beverage. While walking out he checked with me, "Would you like another mixed drink?"

"WHAT?!?!?!" The doctor screamed in horror.

Then we explained, "Cranberry and apple juice, mixed."

His (Dr.'s) relief was palpable as his big sigh filled the room.

  2. Maybe they don't make cran-orange because orange juice is not exactly a "healthy" juice? Not Atkins friendly, prob'ly has too much sugar, don't think it has much in the way of antioxidants. Ocean Spray seems to push "healthy."

You know what's really good, though? Absolut Vodka, orange juice, and a splash of cranberry juice. My brother-in-law and I decided it should be called a Phillips Screwdriver™.

Marie, cute story! We only managed to startle our OB when he found out Wildchild was sideways.

  3. MarieN!

Sounds like The Quipper knew what he was doing when he asked the question that way...good for him!

    Barb!

But you'd think if alls you had to do all day was make juice, you'd be compelled to make this mix.

And by the way, on page 363 of the 20th edition of Williams' Principles of Obstetrics is this quote:
"Transverse lie is a fetal presentation often brought about by the consumption of too many Phillips Screwdrivers."

Looks like you got some 'splainin'.

  6. TK!

It wasn't me. It doesn't sound as good, because the juices don't get to mingle enough until the cubes melt.

  7. Scottius, your obstetrical vocabulary is impressive, but well, let's put it in the classic question. "When did you stop beating your wife?"
