  1. Try listening to Stavesacre. No, seriously. Try here or go to their My Space page. Or do both. I love, love, love this band.

  2. Heck, they list AC/DC as an influence on their MySpace page. What else could you want? :)

I've never heard of them. Of course, I'm also old.

How do you pronounce it? Is it like wiseacre?

  4. I believe so, but I don't know that I've ever heard anyone else pronounce it. Maybe on the radio station in Columbus that used to play their stuff.

You want a fun band name for pronouncing, another one of the bands I like was called Ghoti Hook. The first word pronounced "fish." You know, "f" as in "enough", and the "sh" as in "motion". I forget how they got the "i" sound from an "o". But the aforementioned radio station in Columbus pronounced it "Goat-y." Hee!

That band name is hilarious. I love stuff like that. Where do you come up with these bands?

  6. When we lived in Columbus, OH, there was a Christian radio station that played "regular" Christian rock, of all types, not the goofy "praise", "Jesus is my boyfriend" type stuff that most of the Christian radio stations play. That's where I found a lot of my favorite groups. And then, once you find a lot of the "indie" labels that sign a lot of these bands, you get introduced to other bands on that label, and so on. There really is good Christian music out there.

The only "Christian" radio stations I've ever heard play the pop boyfriend jams. It's nice to know there are some good stations and good tunes out there.
