I couldn't believe my eyes on tonight's episode of Illinois Gardener. They ate cicadas! Evidently you fry them in olive oil and season with garlic pepper and sea salt. They described them as both crispy and chewy.
At least I didn't hear anyone say they tasted like chicken. But they did seem to enjoy them.
