Are squirrels that live in bad neighborhoods tougher than squirrels in the suburbs?
Since they live in mean places, I submit that they have more of a chip on their shoulder than the average squirrel.
For instance, the squirrels in my neighborhood run away from my car as its coming down the road. They run away from me when I walk out in the yard.
If I drive through a rougher neighborhood, I've seen squirrels stand up in the road and act tough, like they are daring me to hit them.
I keep waiting to see one with a cigarette, shades and leather jacket. Then I'll be convinced.
But even so, I've still never seen one tougher than this chick:
