Recently The Lucy Show -Season 1 was released on DVD. Naturally our house had to have them. There have been a couple of DVDs released of selected shows from this series previously, but those were mostly of the final 3 seasons, when the format changed to Lucy in California working for Mr. Mooney.
The first 3 seasons are the seasons in Danfield, NY, with Vivian Vance as a regular, and are an absolute riot. I have never seen some of the episodes, and the ones I have I haven't seen in probably over 30 years. So it's like I've never seen them.
Plans are for the seasons to be gradually released, depending on response. So far they've proved very popular. I highly recommend them. MUCH better than anything else on now.
Hmmm. I may have to get that for Christmas for my Lucy-lovin' sister-in-law. She even gave her new baby daughter the middle name Lucille.

Yeah, we've watched all but the last two episodes of season 1. Looking forward to the release of season 2. One of the cool things on the DVD is that it includes cast commercials with vintage openings and closings of the show.
Here's Lucy season 1 was just released also but I haven't seen it in stores yet.
