1 Samuel 17-20.
Lots of lessons in this weekend's reading. Once again we see man's plans failing, in wanting, and in choosing, a king. We see God intervening and choosing who He wants, who no man would ever choose, an insignificant shepherd boy. "Watching" what happens when the Spirit of God comes upon David, His choice, is awesome.
And of course, there's His intervention in what appears to human eyes to be an impossible, no-win situation against the giant warrior. Only God could deliver in this situation.
